We built Napier because we wanted a distinct component to handle all the calculations for our Pact administration system.  The more we looked into the area, the more we found that insurers were suffering with the present solutions on the market.  Either these were too slow to cope with the demands of aggregators, too difficult to set up and change rates and rules, or too constraining on the calculations they allowed.

So we did something about it.

We made Napier model-driven

Like all our software, we've made Napier configurable through our unique graphical modelling approach.  Simply drag and drop the elements you need into place to define even the most complex of calculations.  Using this intuitive approach you can include as many steps as you need, from common insurance calculation functions, to referencing tables, setting rounding rules, and even accessing a fully featured actuarial calculation language.

We provided an easy-to-use dashboard for controlling Napier without having to involve IT

From here you can rapidly deploy your calculation models, test them, and review their performance and use.  The dashboard also automatically keeps tracks of the versions of your rules and rates, and lets you decide when they take effect.

We made Napier fast and scalable

Knowing the problems insurers have faced in the performance of their rating engines, we worked hard to ensure that Napier is super fast at what it does.  A whole range of engineering 'tricks' ensure that even the most complex of motor premium calculations returns in under 1 second.  And our cloud based approach ensures that performance is maintained even when your needs extend to servicing multiple aggregator web sites.
